An overview of the Surface Tools toolset

 

 

The Surface Tools toolset provides a series of tools that allows creating surfaces (Grids) from polyline and point data, converting Grids to contour polylines, building Thiessen polygons, and extracting values and zonal statistics from rasters.

 

The following table lists the tools available in the Surface Tools toolset and provides a brief description of each.

 

Tool	Description
Build Thiessen Polygons	Builds Thiessen polygons from input points.
Convert Grid to Contours	Converts Grids to contour polylines.
Create Grid from Contours	Creates Grids from input polylines.
Create Grid from Points	Creates Grids interpolating input points using Splines.
Density	Creates density rasters for input features.
Extract Raster Values	Extracts values from raster datasets.
Extract Raster Zonal Statistics	Extracts zonal statistics from raster datasets.
