MapInfo TAB PDS

 

 

Purpose

 

MapInfo TAB Plug-in Data Source allows reading MapInfo TAB files in ArcGIS.

 

Description

 

Installing XTools Pro 2.1 enables reading access to MapInfo TAB data in ArcGIS. As MapInfo TABs can store data with different geometry types TAB files are supported as feature datasets with four possible feature classes inside: multipoint, point, polyline, and polygon.

 

At the same time, TAB files may contain only point features, or only polyline and polygon features. In such cases adding MapInfo data to your map you will see only those geometries that are present in the TAB file.

For more MapInfo TAB reading capabilities in ArcGIS you may refer to the Data East TAB Reader product. In addition to the MapInfo TAB PDS in XTools Pro it allows:

 

• Direct reading MIF/MID files in ArcGIS
