Extract Map: Selecting output data format and location

You can select output data format for the extracted data choosing between file or personal geodatabases and shapefile format. To specify the location for output data select required data format, click the diskette icon near the corresponding field and select the location in the window that will open.

For the maps with data from SDE geodatabase being output to a file or personal geodatabase there is an option to create check-out replica so that later you can synchronize edits made in the extracted data with the parent replica.

In case of shapefile output format there is an option to create spatial indexes for extracted shapefiles. You can choose to create spatial indexes always, never, or only if source spatial indexes exist.

Extracting maps you can also (re)project the output data. If you choose to do that, select the "Project data" option and specify the required projection.

Besides, for input geodatabases with domains and subtypes there is an option to add fields with domain and subtype descriptions. If you select this option new fields will be created in the output data with domain and subtype descriptions in addition to the coded values.

Having made a selection click "Next" to get to the next step.
