Thanks to all for posting in this separate thread so it's easier to communicate and gather all such posts in the same place.
Numi and jhenrie, we would ask you to send us your XTools Pro setups logs: %Temp%\Setup Log 2009-11-nn #001.txt
In addition, we would also ask to send us the Event logs from your machines related to XTools Pro installation. Here is the instruction how you can get it:
1. First, please download the Log Parser utility from the Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/tools/logparser/default.mspx 2. Install Log Parser 3. Try to install XTools Pro 6.1 again, get the error message 4. Run the command line AS ADMINISTRATOR and enter:
"%programfiles%\log parser 2.2\logparser" "SELECT * FROM System, Application, Security TO c:\xtools.log WHERE TimeWritten >= SUB( TO_LOCALTIME(SYSTEM_TIMESTAMP()), TIMESTAMP('10', 'mm') )"
This will save events from the last 10 minutes to the log file C:\xtools.log
5. Send us this log file
Besides, please see if you have the file ATL80.dll in your system in this folder: C:\Windows\winsxs\ or elsewhere
Philip, your case seems to be sort of specific. In fact, your XTools Pro setup log says you still have Vista SP2 on your machine. Anyway, please send us your Event log as well?
Regards, Andrei |
